A Little Bit About Me

Hey Girls!

My name is Rose. I've been interested in makeup and beauty my whole life. I decided to create this blog so that I could share my beauty tips and tricks with you, all my viewers. Its a great way to show you our personalities, and talk about our favorite thig: makeup! I hope you find this blog useful, if there's anything I can do to make it more helpful to you, or any requests you have for a post, please feel free to let me know. Also, if you like this blog, spread the news about it! As a blogger, its difficult to get many followers when you're just starting out, but you guys can help me by telling your friends that are interested in makeup about my blog! If you have any questions or comments, or you have a beauty article or video you'd like to share, please email me at rosebeauty17@rocketmail.com.

Thanks so much :)

Back to School

I know its only August, but I've heard that some people are going to start getting ready to go back to school soon (I don't go back until September). I figured I'd get a head start on back to school videos so I can do a lot for you guys before school starts up again! I am planning on doing at least one fashion video for back to school (probably two) and a few makeup looks that are good for school. Please let me know if you want to see anything else!

Back to school posts will start later this week! :)

LastBlast vs. LashBlast Length

These two products have a few things in common. They are both CoverGirl and they are both of the LashBlast variety. But they have some very distinct differences.

  1. LashBlast (volume): This mascara is absolutely excellent! It came out last year when the LashBlast line started. I have the color black-brown and its perfect for my skin tone and hair, it defines my eyes, but still looks natural. It has a pretty short stem and a really fat brush. It gives tons of volume to your lashes, which i love! Some of the cons of this product is that it can clump (if applied the wrong way) and it does flake. I find that if you comb through your lashes with an eyebrow brush or a spoolie, there are no clumping problems. $8.99 at most drugstores, www.covergirl.com
  2. LashBlast Length: This mascara is wonderful, in some different ways than the regular one. It is specifically a lengthening mascara, so it makes your lashes look darker and longer. I also think it makes them look fuller, while still looking natural. It has a really long stem and a skinny brush, which can make application a little less precise. It is virtually clump free and flake free, which is a great plus! It is also water resistant (note: that does not mean water proof! This mascara does come off with soap and water, but if you say, have a water fight or something, it won't run all over your face). $8.99 at most drugstores, www.covergirl.com
Overall, I like both of these mascaras for different purposes and reasons. I find myself reaching for the LashBlast Length a little more often just because it is flake free and water resistant, which makes it the better choice for school. I recommend them both and I think they are both amazing products!

Top 5 Favorite Nail Polishes

Have you recently been looking into purchasing more nail polish? This post will help show you the kinds of colors I like to use and maybe you'll find something you like too :)

Sinful Colors: Big Daddy ($1.99, drugstores): I absolutely LOVE this color. Lately, I've really been into oranges on both my fingers and toes. This color is so amazing because its not too bright, but its still a great orange. I especially love it because it looks great with my skin tone. Hey, its also great for summer!!

Sinful Colors: Ruby Red ($1.99, drugstores): This is basically very true to the name. It is a perfect medium red, not too bright, but not too dark.

NYC (New York Color)($1.99, drugstores): Manhattan: This color is a really pretty plum. Its a great deep magenta-ish purple. I think it looks especially nice on toes :)

NYC ($1.99, drugstores): Lincoln Center: This color is not really a plum, its more of a really deep red. Its mysterious and really gorgeous.

Sally Hansen: Double Duty ($4.50, drugstores): This is a base and top coat. Its specifically for strengthening but I find that it gives amazing shine and it makes your manicures and pedicures last for days (not just a few, I'm talking like, 7 days for fingers and up to 2 weeks for toes!)

Quick Review: Jesse's Girl Eye Primer

ok, so i recently picked some of the Jesse's Girl Eye Primer at my local RiteAid ($5.99). I tried it out with my NYX Jumbo Pencil because that is the eye shadow that i own that creases the most in the shortest amount of time. I figured that if the primer could keep from creasing with the jumbo pencil, then it had to be a pretty good product, and at $6, what's there to lose?
After about 2 and a half hours, the first tiny crease popped up (it was really really tiny!) which was extremely impressive. I didn't think that the primer would work that well! Overall, I recommend this product, its a great alternative to the Urban Decay Primer Potion (which is about $18!) and a lot less expensive :)

April Faves!

i know its late, but i figured better late than never :)
(as always, these are in no particular order)

John Frieda FRIZZ EASE Heat Defeat- this spray is awesome! It is light weight but it protects and smoothes my hair when i straighten it. Also, the smell is absolutely amazing!! ($6.50 at drugstores)

CoverGirl Mink Shadow- this eye shadow has been my favorite for a really long time. Its a bronzy/shimmering gold, perfect for summer. Another great use: brush it lightly on the tops of your cheekbones for a perfect summer glow :) (about $5 at drugstores, or www.covergirl.com)

Milani Crystal Lip Gloss- i have the color Secret. its the perfect nude-ish pink color for spring! Plus it smells like vanilla, which is AMAZING!! (about $4.50 at drugstores, or www.milanicosmetics.com)

CoverGirl LashBlast Length- i love this!! i've had the regular LashBlast (volume) for a few months and its my favorite mascara ever. When this new lengthening formula came out, i just had to pick it up. it has a special water resistant formula so it doesn't come off in water (ex. swimming, water fight :), sweat, etc.) but it does easily come off with soap and water (no more raccoon eyes!). (about $8.00 at drugstores, or www.covergirl.com)

ok, i know this post was short, but these are really all my faves for April.
